A real excerpt

Here's what your book will actually look like

From section 6 — Safety by the sea (real text, unedited)

Flags: 🟢 green = safe · 🟡 yellow = caution, only up to your waist · 🔴 red = no swimming · 🔴🟡 red-yellow = supervised swimming area. Rip currents: don't swim against the current — swim parallel to the shore and raise your hand.

Why Welcomap

Welcomap vs. a free template vs. a guide app

A free template (€7-12) stays an empty shell without coast-specific safety info on tides, rip currents and beach flags; a yearly guide app (~$99) rarely covers that depth either. Welcomap includes that coastal knowledge ready-made, multilingual and native-checked, for a one-time €19.

Multilingual (up to 6 languages)

Editable without Canva or another program
One-time — no subscription

A free template gives you an empty skeleton you have to fill in and translate yourself. A guide app costs you again every year. Welcomap gives you the quality of the expensive option — finished, multilingual, with a safety guide — for a one-time price.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

How does personalising work?

You fill in your own details in the Welcomap app — WiFi network and password, address, house rules and local tips — and see a live preview of your welcome book right away. After payment, you immediately receive the full, watermark-free PDF, ready to print or share. You can always go back to the app to make changes.

Which languages do I get the book in?

Every welcome book comes standard in Dutch, English and German — the three languages that cover most international guests. For €29 instead of €19, you can expand to all 6 languages, adding French, Spanish and Italian, ideal if you regularly welcome guests from those countries.

Can I edit it later?

Yes, always — for free, as often as you like. At purchase you get a personal link to your book in the Welcomap app. Changed your WiFi password, updated a house rule, or found a new favourite restaurant? Open that link, update your details and download the new version right away — no Canva or other program needed.

How do I share it with my guests?

Most hosts print the welcome book and leave it somewhere visible in the property, for example on the table or next to the keys. You can also add a QR code to the PDF or hang one up separately, so guests can open the book straight on their own phone — handy for anyone who'd rather not flip through a folder.

What should I do about a jellyfish sting on the beach?

Rinse the area with seawater (never fresh water) and carefully remove any tentacle remnants with tweezers or a card. For severe pain, an allergic reaction, or a Portuguese man o' war sting: call 112 or go to the beach first-aid post.

Are dogs allowed on the beach?

This varies by beach and by season — some beaches are dog-free in summer or require a leash. Check the sign at the beach entrance or the local council's rules for the current situation on your specific beach.
